Name
Origin:
Sevier County was named for Ambrose Hundley Sevier, a United States
Senator from Arkansas. Prior to becoming a senator, he became
a clerk of the Territorial House of Representatives where he went
on to become a member of the House in 1823 and speaker of the
House in 1827.
