Origin:
Pulaski County is named for Count Casimir Pulaski, a Polish volunteer
who saved George Washington's life during the American Revolutionary
War becoming a general in the Continental Army. Pulaski was known
as the 'Father of the American Cavalry'. Pulaski is one of only
seven people to be awarded honorary United States citizenship.
